Why not give thanks for all of the people who want to cook our big holiday meal for us. Whether dining in or taking to go, here’s how to leave Thanksgiving to the pros.
Give thanks from the enchanting outdoor patio at Café Pinot, surrounded by downtown’s skyscrapers. A unique Thanksgiving menu complements this unique setting, including pumpkin soup with cardamom spiced marshmallow, pepitas and mitake mushrooms, stripe bass in a spiced lemon verbena quince broth, and pumpkin pie or your choice of dessert. The pre-fixe menu is available for $55.
Starting at 2 p.m., Cecconi’s is giving thanks for one particular fall ingredient—black truffle. In addition to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner ($45 for adults) complete with turkey, gravy, vegetables and mashed potatoes (all garnished with truffles, of course), they will also offer specials like a butternut squash tortelli, and a cauliflower, butternut squash, and gorgonzola pizza with shaved black truffle. It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving dinner without dessert—end your meal with a slice of ricotta and pumpkin cake.
In addition to the traditional dishes, Farmshop will be offering sides such as butternut squash puree with toasted plum seeds and brown butter, glazed carrots with raisins, honey and spice, and wild rice pilaf with chestnuts, currants, red cabbage and dill. Farmshop’s wine and cheese experts can help you host the perfect Thanksgiving cocktail hour, complete with gourmet appetizers such as smoked trout deviled eggs, salmon rillettes with pickled vegetables, and avocado hummus with pomegranate and Nigella seed.
Indulge in the savory flavors of fall with a Gordon Ramsay Thanksgiving. Pumpkin soup, mushroom risotto, turkey with sage stuffing, butter poached halibut and baked apple tarte tatin steal the scene at this decadent feast. The menu will be served from 11:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m. and costs $95 per person.
Jar is dishing up a family style Thanksgiving dinner—the Roasted Turkey will be accompanied by six sides including cranberry relish, cornbread and turkey sausage stuffing, sweet potato au gratin, mashed potatoes and gravy, long-cooked mustard greens, and roasted onions with almond pesto. Make sure you get seconds of your favorites before dessert—pumpkin pie or chocolate pecan pie seal the deal. Dinner will be served from 1 p.m.-8 p.m., and costs $85 for adults.
Go beyond turkey this year with an all-out Thanksgiving brunch at Livello. They’ll have to roll you out of the restaurant after you get seconds (and thirds) of their oysters, snow crab legs, smoked salmon, lobster mashed potatoes, Brie macaroni and cheese, and more! From 11 a.m.-3 p.m., join in the family-friendly festivities including a cookie decorating station for the young-uns. While the kids are frosting and sprinkling, you can treat yourself to unlimited Mimosas, Bellinis and Bloody Mary’s for just $20 extra. Dinner is $80 for adults, $40 for children 12 and under.
If you want to indulge in one of the most elegant Thanksgiving dinners in town, you’ll want to be at Mélisse. Thanksgiving classics get fancy-schmancy, like the pumpkin soup with black trumpet mushrooms, cinnamon Toast, and chestnut mousse. For a mere $48 additional charge, you can add white truffles to your lobster ravioli. If the turkey with chanterelle, apple and brioche stuffing with pomegranate gravy isn’t classy enough for you, you can opt for a whole roasted dry aged prime rib. Don’t miss chef Josiah Citrin’s signature praline pecan yams for dessert. All this (excluding drink) can be yours for $95 ($42 for children under 8).
Bet you never thought you would eat Thanksgiving dinner inside the Walt Disney Concert Hall! Dig into a holiday spread that is anything but traditional—lobster veloute with paysanne and argmagnac crostini, butternut squash risotto, rabbit ballotine, roasted halibut with escarole, Haricot Vert, pearl onions, grapefruit nage, and apple cinnamon bread pudding are some of the highlights of this mouth-watering meal, which costs $65 for four courses.

Football lovers, unite! For a casual, affordable Thanksgiving, Rock & Reilly’s is the place to be. Opening early at 9:00 a.m. for those who actually want to watch the game, they will be serving up bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys all day for just $12, and a turkey dinner with all the trimmings for just $9.95—now that’s a deal to be thankful for.
Want an Italian-inspired Thanksgiving dinner this year? Join Scarpetta of Beverly Hills for a brunch buffet of colossal proportions. Herb roasted turkey with fegato and cranberry mustarda, whipped potatoes with truffles and parmigiano, citrus cured salmon with orange and fennel salad, and, just so you remember its Italian, spaghetti with tomato and basil await in this tantalizing feast. Dinner is $88 per person, and unlimited Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and Bellinis are available for an extra $22.

For meat-eaters, a turkey dinner with potatoes and gravy is paired with chestnut stuffing, sweet potatoes and shallots, brussels sprouts with pancetta, and cranberry sauce with orange and mint. Replace the meaty dishes with fingerling potatoes and wild mushrooms persillade and you’ve got a meal fit for a (vegan) king! Dessert is your choice of pumpkin pie with piloncillo or candied pecan tart with vanilla ice cream. On Thanksgiving Day from 1 p.m.-8 p.m., you can partake in this first-rate meal for $65 per person.

Forget fasting the night before to make room for Thanksgiving dinner—celebrate Thanksgiving Eve (it’s a real holiday, we swear) at Tortilla Republic. From 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. until close, feast on $2-$6 small plates like Jalapeno croquetas, carnitas tacos, and BBQ chicken quesadillas, and wash it down with margaritas, Spanish wines and Mexican beers. It’s a California-style Thanksgiving from Huckleberry, featuring turkey in various forms from meatballs to thighs, and an extensive array of seasonal veggie sides (sautéed brussels sprouts with caramelized onions or roasted butternut squash with maple syrup and walnuts, anyone?). The a la carte menu also includes a thoughtful selection of muffins and teacakes for the morning of or after—for those pesky guests that just won’t leave—and of course desserts including maple walnut pie and gingerbread layer cake. They’re preparing a splurge-worthy spread of freshly made deep-fried turkey with giblet gravy (drool), fennel, sausage and mushroom stuffing, and pumpkin cheesecake. Post’s stuffing with wild rice, pork sausage and sage, and cranberry kumquat relish, but what Thanksgiving dinner would be complete without whipped garlic and olive oil potatoes and turkey gravy? Attention vegans and vegetarians: Mohawk Bend didn’t forget about you! They are offering a slue of vegan dishes either as a set menu for $80 (serves four) or individually, including roasted brussel sprouts with apples and almonds, mashed potatoes and gravy (vegan, interesting), sweet potato casserole, stuffing, rolls, and pumpkin bread. Whew! With all that food, you won’t even miss the turkey!
This year, Thanksgiving is going global at Susan Feniger’s STREET, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to boot. Pumpkin and poblano tamales, chicken and waffle croquettes, caramelized onion and apple chorizo cornbread stuffing, and pandan and coconut creamed corn are just a few of the multicultural selections that put a twist on the traditional Thanksgiving fare. All orders must be ordered three days in advance, and be picked up by November 21st.
