The Oinkster Takes On L.A.’s Great Burgers

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that’s true, then next week Eagle Rock’s The Oinkster will be will be dishing out some heavy praise. The slow-food burger shack best known for its killer pastrami will be hosting a Burger Week from June 6th-12th designed as a tribute to great Los Angeles burgers. Everyday of the week, The Oinkster will feature its take on such Southland favorites as the Big Mac, the Original Tommy’s Burger, the Father’s Office burger, and the Umami burger. Oinkster will also play host to the chefs from the Grill Em’ All Truck who will be serving up their own creations. The week will culminate with the “$25 Oinkster Special”, a burger that will actually cost 9.50 and feature sautéed porcini mushrooms, cambozola cheese, arugula, truffle aioli, and crispy onions on a toasted roll. Taking on a slew of L.A. classics is a tall order, indeed—we doubt audacity has ever tasted this good.
