Santa Monica: Out of the old SM Pier Seafood comes its lightly modernized offspring. Re-dubbed The Albright, the new place features a redesign by Studio Alvarez and Bobby Hundreds of The Hundreds street wear company. An updated menu offers much of the same laid-back, pier-friendly fare as its predecessor, but with a larger selection of craft beers and live seafood. » 258 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, 90401, (310) 394-9683

Orange County: Tonight, Fig & Olive opens its first Orange County outpost in the ever-luxe Fashion Island at Newport Beach. The menu strives for a French Riviera vibe, with everything from zucchini carpaccio and fig and gorgonzola tartlets to grilled branzino and rosemary-grilled lamb chops. » 151 Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach, 92660

Glendale: Now open across from Americana at Brand is Brand 158, a Mediterranean-ish pizza and pasta bar by Cyril Kabaoglu, formerly of TriptikLA.
