Koreatown: From the same minds behind Le Ka and Wokcano comes a new seafood restaurant with an Asian twist. EMC Seafood & Raw Bar opened a few weeks ago, offering a full bar and $1 oyster specials during happy hour. Menu items include seared albacore sashimi with garlic ponzu, Dungeness crab, Chilean sea bass, and black pepper beef mignon. Venice: The newest ice cream spot on the block is Kippy’s!, which serves strictly raw and dairy free treats. Kippy’s!, owned by Kippy Miller and Max Wolf of Truly Raw Gourmet, scoops organic coconut-based ice cream and sorbets sweetened with raw local honey. The two break down more than 600 coconuts each week to make their frozen treats. Flavors like chocolate crème and orange creamsicle go for $4.50 a scoop; double it up for $8. Beverly Hills: A second location of Genwa very quietly opened last month on Restaurant Row. In classic Korean barbecue style, each table at Genwa is equipped with a grill so that guests can cook their own proteins. Groups are welcome; let the soju flow freely. Genwa, 170 N.
