① GARIBALDI at VITO’S PIZZA
“For me New York-style pizza is the best, but the Garibaldi nails it—thin with meatballs, jalapeños, and with no shortage of grease.”

② CRULLER DOUGHNUT at PLAN CHECK
“There are 100 doughnut shops I haven’t tried yet, but for now the fried-to-order cruller here is my favorite.”

③ BRUSSELS SPROUTS at FREDDY SMALLS
“If Brussels sprouts are on a menu, I always order them—and about half the time I’m disappointed. These are cooked perfectly and have a good balance of salty and sweet.”

④ CHICKEN MOLE POBLANO TACO at GUISADOS
“They make the tortillas in-house and load them with braised meat that’s superauthentic.”

⑤ SHRIMP TOAST at SON OF A GUN
“It’s buttery and light at the same time. I’m not sure how they do that.”
