Just in time for the peak of summer, Grand Central Market is slipping into its eveningwear.
Starting on July 3, the Downtown market will be open until 9 p.m. every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. This helps remedy criticisms that the revitalized open air-market closed too early, with most businesses shutting down around 6 p.m. Not all businesses inside the market will adopt the new hours immediately, but most are planning to adjust in the immediate future.
In addition to staying open later, vendors such as Olio Wood-Fired Pizzeria, Belcampo Meat Co., and Horse Thief BBQ have begun to serve beer and wine as well. That means you can have a Smog City Little Bo Pils with your margherita pizza or a Shiner Bock with your pulled pork and brisket.
During the inaugural weekend, you can enjoy DJ sets on July 3-5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Also consider visiting Horse Thief BBQ on July 4th, when they’ll be staying open until 10 p.m. in honor of their one-year anniversary.
