Suzanne Goin, Nancy Silverton, Michael Cimarusti Among James Beard Award Finalists

Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, Dahlia Narvaez, and Caroline Styne also made the cut

I'm having déjà vu. Today, the James Beard Foundation announced its list of Restaurant and Chef finalists for 2014. Local nominees again include Nancy Silverton, Suzanne Goin, Caroline Styne, and Michael Cimarusti. Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo (as a pair) also made the cut.

Is the similarity to last year's list of West Coast nominees a coincidence?

Dahlia Navaez made the short list for Outstanding Pastry Chef for her work at Osteria Mozza, but she's up against New York heavy weights Dominque Ansel and Christina Tosi.

We're a bit shocked that neither Ludo Lefebvre nor Trois Mec made the final cut.

On May 5, Mario Batali and Ted Allen will host this year's ceremony where Sherry Yard (and David Chang, Paul Kahan, and John Besh) will be inducted into the Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America
