For the third year in a row, L.A. Food & Wine is taking the city by culinary storm. Organizers are bringing in talent from all over the country (Grant Achatz, Morimoto) even while focusing in on local heros like David Myers and Ben Ford. But there are nearly 30 events spread over four days. How ever will you decide what to attend?
Here are our picks for this weekend's can't miss events:

8/24: Ziggy Marley and Ben Ford Cooking Demo - Did somebody say munchies? These two. If they can stop giggling long enough to cook something, I bet it¹ll be good.
8/24: Bacon and Bourbon with Chef Edward Lee - Lee's cookbook, Smoke & Pickles, if one of my favorites of the year. I bet the Kentucky chef knows a thing or two about pairing pork and bourbon.

8/23: Asian Night Market Hosted by Chef Morimoto - Why Asian Night Market? Because I can't make my way to Beijing, Taipei, Bangkok, or Saigon anytime soon!
8/23: Morimoto Cooking Demo - Because it's Morimoto!!! And as the Chairman would scream, "Allez Cuisine!!!"

8/23: Tequila and Tacos - I did say 2013 was the year of the taco, and we just can't have a party in L.A without one of the world's greatest street eats. It's the real L.A. concession, and tequila is once again on the rise. Patrón? Well, by this time next year Patrón will be a household name in China, once again making history. Josef Centeno (Bar Ama) is riffing on Tex Mex and Ray Garcia (FIG) is one of the top more refined taqueros in the city.
8/24: Rosés around the World - Rosé has been shaking off its reputation as an inferior wine for years now; this summer sipper is finally getting its due. In nearby Santa Barbara Co., more and more wine makers are producing dryer, quaffable roses, and what better time to celebrate than right here in L.A., where we have (warm, fair) Rosé weather most of the year.

8/23: Hinoki & the Bird Mixology Lunch with Charles Phan & David Meyers - Each of the four food courses will be paired with a live cocktail demo and cocktails by The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas' mixologist Chris Hopkins. Not only is this lunch epic because of the chefs but I'm always down for amazing food paired with cocktails.
8/24: Grant Achatz's cocktail demonstration - Every cocktail geek knows about the amazing things chef Achatz has been doing with cocktails in Chicago. His bar, The Aviary, is definitely on my drink bucket list. So, getting a cocktail lesson by Achatz in L.A. is a boozy dream come true. And heads up! Grant Achatz, Charles Joly and the Aviary Crew are going to be pouring at the Sunday Grand Tasting, too.
