Summer Swordfish Menu at Valentino - 8/1 to 8/31
Tonight, Santa Monica’s Valentino kicks off a new summer menu featuring swordfish antipasto and entrées. Get them while you can, because with the space currently on the market, we’re not sure how much longer this Italian landmark will be around. Sushi Roku Beer Garden at One Colorado Courtyard - 8/3
Back by popular demand, Pasadena’s Sushi Roku is relaunching its pop-up beer garden for the One Colorado “Saturday Nights in August” concert series. The featured menu will showcase summery cocktails like the Mandarin Honey Margarita as well as Sushi Roku standards such as spicy tuna hanabi on crispy rice and yellowtail sashimi with diced chiles. Paladar Returns Downtown - 8/3
Paladar, the now-defunct underground pop-up restaurant that famously served three courses for $15, returns this weekend to a secret downtown location. When they started, chefs Alex Chang and Bobby Kronfil were students at USC and threw the well-received dinners in their tiny apartment. The new Paladar location remains under wraps, and as of now online tickets are listed as “currently unavailable.” But if this event is anything like the previous ones, folks in the know could still score a table.
