Their anniversaries mean we get the presents? Sweet!

Yes, we all rejoiced when Plan Check Kitchen + Bar celebrated its first anniversary by giving diners free cruller donuts yesterday.
But it turns out there's more good cheer to be had this week as Little Tokyo ramen mecca Daikokuya turns 11 years old, offering up bowls of its Daikoku ramen—made with the famously flavorful pork broth, slices of roasted pork, an impossibly perfect boiled egg, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and scallions—for just five bucks (as opposed to the usual $8.95) through Friday.
Annnnnd The Varnish downtown is lighting its fourth candle by giving away free Bols Genever punch and shots of Amaro Ramazzotti from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Free donuts, discount ramen, and complimentary drinks? We'll take those over the usual 1st, 11th, and 4th anniversary gifts of paper, steel, and fruit ANY day.
