We ring in the New Year with resolutions, but the French do it with pastry. Epiphany, which falls on January 6, is honored with Galette des Rois, or “Kings’ Cake,” a puff pastry with a velvety almond filling. Find the fève, or figurine, inside and you’ll be crowned “king” for the day. From January 4 until January 31, Bouchon Bakery will be offering eight-inch almond, pistachio, and apple varieties ($30 each).
