Watch Out: Pre-Packaged Salads, Sandwiches Recalled
Trader Joe's, Walgreen's, and Whole Foods are recalling salads and sandwiches due to possible E. coli contamination.
What are you having for lunch? Hopefully it's not one of six pre-packed salads and sandwiches that are being recalled from Trader Joe's, Walgreen's, and Whole Foods across the Southland. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that 26 people in three states (including California) have fallen ill from the grab-and-go lunch items packaged by Athertone Foods Inc. Consumers are instructed to throw out packages dated September 23 to November 6.
Contaminated ham or chicken has been found in 90 tons of prewrapped salads and wraps labeled as: Delish Greek Style Orzo Salad, Delish Asian Style Noodle Salad, Delish Vegetarian Wrap, Classic Greek Salad, Southwestern Salad Kit, or Wheat Berry Salad Kit.
