During World War II, the Red Cross gave soldiers free coffee and donuts. In 1942, under pressure from allied countries, the Red Cross abruptly started charging for their fried fritters in an attempt to keep things fair between soldiers of all countries. Needless to say this left a bad taste in American soldiers' mouths. Ever since then, donutteries have offered free coffee and donuts to our men in uniform on Veteran's Day. So, don your uniform or show military ID in order to score a Krispy Kreme of your choice on November 11 at all participating Krispy Kreme locations.
