Deborah Koons Garcia’s Symphony of the Soil explores the complexity and overlooked beauty of something we all take for granted: dirt. Garcia's last film, The Future of Food, made us consider how each individual purchase, however fleeting, however seemingly automatic, could change the future of our food system, at home and around the world. Filmed on four continents, Symphony of the Soil goes deeper, down into the birthplace of our food, showcasing soil as the foundation for life on earth.
Symphony of the Soil opens on November 8 at Laemmle Theatres.
