James Beard Foundation’s “All Tracks Lead to L.A.” Dinner at Union Station – 10/11

The James Beard Foundation is pulling out all the stops for this L.A.-themed spectacular. Guests begin on Union Station’s south patio with food truck grub and suds provided by the Bruery before settling into the Grand Concourse for a five-course collaborative dinner by celebrity chefs Rick Bayless, Nobu Matsuhisa, Michael Cimarusti, Jeremy Fox, and Karen Hatfield. There’s also a silent auction, but good luck winning anything cooler than this. Tickets cost $185 a person. More Information

The Taste of Mexico - 10/11

Whether you're from Abbot Kinney or Huntington Park, every Angeleno has a soft spot for Mexican cuisine. With the 3rd Annual Taste of Mexico at the La Plaza de Cultura y Artes, there is no excuse not to explore the many regional culinary styles that Los Angeles has to offer. More than two dozen vendors will be serving, from Guelaguetza and Ricky’s Fish Taco, to Mexicali and Frida. More Information

The Fifth Annual Taste of Italy Fest – 10/12

Break out the red, white, and green for this gastro-cultural celebration held in L.A.’s historic Little Italy (today’s Chinatown). More than 60 Italian food vendors will be there including Drago Centro, Café Firenze, Dominick’s, and wines will be on hand from Casa Torelli, Terravino, and Nuova Capelletta. There will also be live cooking demonstrations, musical performances, and celebrity appearances (ooh!). Proceeds go to the Italian American Museum. Tickets cost $55 for general admission and $125 for VIP. More Information

Artisanal L.A. Fall Show – 10/12 – 13

Artisanal L.A. is setting up shop at dowtnown's iconic L.A. Mart for its second fall show—just in time for holiday prep. The event will feature a range of panels and workshops on subjects such as tea making, sriracha, and biodynamic agriculture, as well as art installations and book signings from The Mozza Cookbook’s Nancy Silverton, Pure Vegan’s Joseph Shuldiner, and more. Nabbing tickets in advance is encouraged. More Information

Good Food Up Close Panel with Ruth Reichl – 10/13

KCRW's Good Food presents a star-studded panel celebrating California cuisine. The discussion will be moderated by acclaimed food writer Reichl and feature chefs Roy Choi (Kogi), Joyce Goldstein (Square One), Eduardo Ruiz (Corazon y Miel), Nancy Silverton (Mozza), and Sang Yoon (Father's Office, Lukson). Listen up as they discuss all things California, from our distinctive terroir to our food trucks. More Information

Cut Your Teeth: Wolvesmouth at SMMoA Begins – 10/16 - 25

Get in touch with your inner lupine at this unique, underground dining experience by Craig Thornton of Wolvesmouth and artist Matthew Bone at the Santa Monica Museum of Art. Coinciding with the end of the fall equinox, the two-week residency gathers guests for communal meals in a series of dark woody sets, complete with canine teeth, soil, flowers, and taxidermied animals. Sound a little spooky? Feel free to stop by during the museum’s regular business hours to watch Thornton prep with the lights on. It's likely the only way you can see the spectacle anyway, considering all $225 tickets have officially sold out. More Information
