Two hot new shops are setting up inside downtown's ever expanding Grand Central Market.

For the first time, you'll be able to order any of EggSlut's popular breakfast (or all-day) sandwiches and sides from a stand alone stall. EggSlut co-owners Alvin Cailan and Jeff Vales have taken over a front counter space near the Broadway side of the market. Don't miss Thee Slut, a coddled egg layered with potato puree, and topped with grey salt and chives. Burgers and slow roasted pork sandwiches will also be on offer when Egg Slut opens later this year.

It's really more of a cart than a stall, but the Altadena-based gelato company will sell all of its most popular flavors (from Sicilian pistachio to yogurt olive oil gelato) out of a freezer near Grand Central Market's Hill Street entrance.
