Sorprendente at Oliverio: a Pop-Up Al Fresco Market

Pasta-making lessons, truffle tasting, and wine sampling are amongst the offerings at this taste of summer event in Beverly Hills.

Located poolside at the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills, Italian spot Oliverio celebrates chef Mirko Paderno’s menu changes for the summer season with an Italian-inspired market event, Sorprendente at Oliverio.

The terrace of the Avalon Hotel is set to transform into an Italian outdoor market and will include stands sampling: truffles (from The Truffle Brothers), assorted meats and cheeses, and hand-made pastas (from Dominico's of The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills). Also on the event roster are live cooking demonstrations from Paderno himself.

For dinner, feast on a family-style menu of dishes like spaghetti with lamb ragu and seafood raviolo with heirloom tomato and zucchini flower. If you’re a meat enthusiast, we recommend the live grilling station, where Paderno will be cooking up suckling pig, pork belly, sausages, and leg of lamb.

What about the booze? Over 15 red and white wines from every region in Italy will be available for wine tasting, and an al fresco bar will feature Italian-themed craft-cocktails.
