Vagrancy Project Moves Into Phase 2
From the beginning, chef Miles Thompson has said that his Vagrancy Project is an evolving enterprise. Last fall, the former Animal and Son of A Gun sous chef launched what he called Phase 1—a roving high-concept underground dinner series. Now he’s announced that the Project is moving into Phase 2: a pop-up residency at Allston Yacht Club. Starting next Monday, June 11, Thompson and Co. will be taking over the Echo Park restaurant every Monday and Tuesday night through the end of August (with the exception of June 26, July 2, and July 3), serving a five-course tasting menu for $70 per person with optional beverage pairing for an additional $50. Two seating times will be available at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. There will be a few spots at the bar available for walk-ins, but reservations should be made by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Some important fine print via Thompson:
Payment in full for the food portion of the meal will be required via credit card in advance to hold the reservation, you may also choose to pay for the beverage pairing at that time if you wish. The total for food is $88.75/person and reflects food/sales tax as well as an 18% gratuity. Any additional costs (extra wine, cocktails, etc.) will need to be paid for at the end of the meal
The ultimate goal is to reach Phase 3—a full-blown restaurant that Thompson has already dubbed Cottage. Considering how quickly they’ve moved into Phase 2, we have high hopes for having a meal at Cottage within the year.
