If you have a Strange Love for art and food, LACMA is the place to be this month. The museum’s new Stanley Kubrick exhibit starts today, followed quickly by “Bodies & Shadows—Caravaggio and His Legacy” on November 11th. In honor of the two artistic pioneers, chef Kris Morningstar of Ray's & Stark Bar is cooking up Kubrick- and Caravaggio-themed dishes throughout the month.
Droogs can dine on the A Clockwork Orange bloody beef dish with an ‘orange clock’ truffled potato pavé and egg yolk. If you’re a fan of Carvaggio’s painting technique, the Chiaroscuro black and white pasta with manila clams, chile, and dry vermouth is for you.
Barsmith Paul Sanguinetti will craft cocktails to match, like the Clockwork Orange libation with bourbon, carrot juice, and cinnamon.
If you’re more than a casual Carravaggio fan, the November cur-ate series at LACMA, Italian Art and Gastronomy, also offers an artistic culinary experience for the true connoisseur. For $100, get a guided through the exhibit followed by a three-course tasting menu at Ray’s & Stark Bar.
