Frying High at the L.A. County Fair

“There’s nothing I won’t fry,” says Chicken Charlie, the man behind such tasty abominations as the deep-fried peanut butter meatball. That’s no lie. Through September 30, Charlie (aka Charles Boghosian) will be at the L.A. County Fair dropping every imaginable edible into hot oil: Kool-Aid, butter, and 2012’s latest innovation: cereal. “People come by the stand and ask, ‘Are you crazy?’’’ He is, a little, but we’re the ones eating the stuff.
