We may not know why the chicken crossed the road, but we do know it tastes delicious when it’s battered and fried. And while it’s hard to beat classic fried chicken, on August 26 nine of Los Angeles’s most renowned chefs will try to do just that by participating in the first ever L.A. Fried Chicken Fest. Josef Centeno (Bäco Mercat), David LeFevre (M.B. Post), Mary Sue Milliken (Border Grill), Matt Molina (Mozza), Bryant Ng (The Spice Table), Jazz Singsanong (Jitlada), Marcel Vigneron and Haru Kishi (The Coop), and Ricardo Zarate (Picca, Mo-Chica) will all create their own version of crispy poultry along with a side dish. Tickets include a taste from each, as well as bottomless cocktail punches and craft beer. Ten percent of proceeds will go to Share Our Strength, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to end childhood hunger in America by 2015. Score tickets here for $45 per person.
