Rock & Brews sound familiar? That’s because the rock-and-roll-themed El Segundo restaurant is relaunching with “more rock and less talk” (what about food and drink?), this time with the help of Kiss legend Gene Simmons. Reopening on April 3, the menu will be comfort food-focused and divided into totally rockin’ (we assume) appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and desserts, as well as a large selection of craft beers.
The venue will have what they’re calling a “backstage feel,” with big-screen televisions will continuously screen concert videos and live recordings—hopefully not exclusively Kiss. Simmons teamed with concert tour producer Dave Furano and restaurateur Michael Zislis (of Manhattan Beach Brewing Company, Rock ‘N Fish, and the Strand House hotel) to relaunch the restaurant, which they hope to be the first of four locations this year.
Fun fact: Zislis brewed his first beer for a school science experiment at age 13 (his parents must have been so proud?). We remain skeptical about the promised “family” environment—for some reason we never saw Kiss as “family fun.”
