Micah Wexler’s Mediterranean small plates hub on La Cienega Boulevard, Mezze, has unveiled a fresh happy hour—actually, happy hours—offering half-priced beer and wine and inventive cocktails. The bar menu, available all hours, nods toward Mezze standards but also features new iterations, some at reduced prices. For instance, the chopped chicken livers with grape mostarda and mini challah that go for $12 in the dining room are $10 at the bar. “The Kleinfeld,” a sandwich with chicken shawarma with amba and house pickles on a sesame baguette, is available at lunch for $14, but you can order it for $10 at the bar in the evening. Other contributors in the food lineup include: warm pita with honey and butter, eggplant hushpuppies with onion fondue; merguez sausage flatbread with tomato jam and Aleppo pepper; and braised Moroccan chicken wings with golden raisins and olives. Happy hours are from 6 – 7:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. – 1 a.m. for the night owls.
