Beck opened Club Nokia at the L.A. Live complex Monday night to mostly rave reviews (outside of a Yelper complaining about the lack of margarita fixins). The celery-less bar is run by Wolfgang Puck catering and you can expect it to be stocked with top shelf liquors—not the rotgut favored by the previous owners of their liquor license. Yes, we were poking around the Alcoholic Beverage Control website again and noticed that Nokia’s license #470434 was transferred from the notorious Craby Joe’s, the South Main Street dive bar made famous by Charles Bukowski and closed last Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, may we suggest the Craby Joe’s/Bukowski memorial T-shirt? Only $20 at the Museum of Neon Art.
