A roundup of this week’s must-see concerts in L.A.

Best Coast – Tuesday, Oct. 22
Formed in Los Angeles in 2009, Best Coast (aka Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno) have been putting out lo-fi fuzzy surf pop that can transport you to the shores of SoCal no matter where you are. Fade Away, their mini-album that comes out today, features the sunny single “This Lonely Morning,” which took Cosentino only five minutes to write. Consider it a precursor to their third full-length album, which should come out in the spring of 2014. To celebrate the release of Fade Away, the duo will play a free set today. For those who can’t attend, there will be a live webcast at www.amoeba.com at 6 p.m.
Amoeba Records: 6400 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood; Tix: Free.

Woodkid – Friday, Oct. 25
Under the stage name Woodkid, Yoann Lemoine, is mostly known as a music video director for the likes of Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Lana Del Rey. Hailing from Lyon, France the musician has been touring in support of his first full release The Golden Age; a tune off the album even got the Pharrell Williams treatment with a remix of “I Love You.” Woodkid’s unique vocals sets him aside from other male singers and the album is dramatic, moody, and melodic. This Los Angeles stop is his final stateside appearance before heading back to Europe.
The Fonda Theater: 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood; Tix: $23.

Art Don’t Sleep Present: Stones Throw 45 Live – Saturday, Oct. 26
Local independent record label Stones Throw is known in hip-hop circles for its obscure but compelling releases. Their current roster of artists includes Pasadena’s Dam Funk, (who’s about to release 7 Days of Funk with Snoopzilla) an artist with a love of early ’80s electro funk. In addition to Dam Funk, this weekend’s showcase will feature appearances by DJ and hip producer extraordinaire Prince Paul, Peanut Butter Wolf, and Karriem Riggins.
Location revealed at time of ticket purchase., Silver Lake; Tix: $23
