In Japanese, natsumaturai which means “summer festival,” and there’s no better way to celebrate summer’s last hurrah than this weekend’s Natsumaturai Family Festival at the Japanese American National Museum. There will be Taiko drumming demonstrations, face painting, screen printing, origami, a moon bounce, a Japanese Mariachi band, and a million photo ops. Plus, you’re right around the corner from the best boba in town.

JANM will also be offering family tours of their newest exhibition, Common Ground: The Heart of the Community. There will also be an opportunity for children to shoot self-portraits, make a Tanzaku wish, or just crash in a special toddler room.

Natsumaturai is an all day affair that begins tomorrow morning at 11 a.m.
