Electric Company: The 105th Annual Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade

Santa is flying over Wilshire Blvd in Bev Hills, The Grove is pumping in fake snow and the Capitol Records Building’s tree is up—it’s officially Christmas-time. Another Cali tradition started last night—the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade hosted by the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce. This years theme? “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” Homes and businesses around the boat route also run up their electric bills competing in the “Ring of Lights” decoration competition. Maxine Maly Stomber snagged this year’s “Green” Entry Award.

Each night the parade starts at 6:30 p.m. around Balboa Village and ends outside Bay Island at 9 p.m. Check out the pics! Or motor down to Newport and see it for yourself.
