If I only covered parties the magazine threw, I'd be a busy gal (I know our Marketing Dept is full of them). Amidst the whirl of events that make up the L.A. social scene, I hit two of Los Angeles magazine's bashes this month. First up: Opening night of Green Day's American Idiot at the Ahmanson (FYI it runs until April 22nd. MSQ's already had his say. I liked the energy of the performers (no one was ever out of breath--WTF?) and was happy to see the young crowd that filled the theatre. I gave the show TWO standing O's afterwards. Then it was on to Perch for a drink with the cast. Love that joint 15 floors above downtown--great views. Could have sat outside on terrace eating chocolate éclairs all night (and did). The next night the mag's thoughts turned to fashion for a meet-and-greet with our style team led by Linda Immediato. (You can check out the last fashion shoot here. It was a cold night in WeHo, but it was toasty on The London's rooftop as gals with serious heels headed towards the chocolate bar by Happy Ending Chocolates. And a first for this party chick: we had court room sketch artist Mona Shafer Edwards, fresh off the Nicollette Sheridan trial, on hand to draw guests. Nice.
