The Getty Showcases The Works of Herb Ritts

The sculptural black-and-white images captured by Herb Ritts in the 1990s defined the look of the decade. The photographer, who died in 2002, applied his retro glamour-meets-grungy industrial aesthetic to music videos, ads, and album covers for Madonna and Michael Jackson. Herb Ritts: L.A. Style opens April 3 at the Getty Center and features some of the 69 original prints the museum acquired last summer, including this iconic shot.
