Bubbie may not approve, but it’s a fact—Jews love Christmas. The Idelsohn Society, which is dedicated to preserving Jewish musical traditions, has documented the phenomenon on two CDs (Idelsohn Society, $18) featuring Hanukkah songs by legends like Woody Guthrie and Don McLean alongside Christmas hits by Bob Dylan, Mel Tormé, and Lou Reed. The yuletide disc is catchier, but with Jews at the mic, everyone wins.
