Gwyneth Paltrow Bares All and Demi Moore Hangs With The Guys at DVF Journey of a Dress Opening

There were so many prints going between the walls and the dresses at DVF’s Journey of a Dress 40th Anniversary Party that you had to blink often or your eyes started to play tricks on you. Or maybe it was just all the fashion and star power that gathered in the Wilshire May Co. Building to celebrate 40 years of Diane Von Furstenberg. What a scene! Past the red carpet, past Andy Cohen doing a red carpet special, past the pink neon sign that instructed you to “Be A Woman Wear A Dress” sat Vogue’s Andre Leon Talley on a kiosk in his signature fabulous wrap. He was gazing at Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who greeted guests at the beginning of the party along with the lady of the hour herself, Von Furstenberg. (I see the two have collaborated on a new show, The Fashion Fund, airing on the Ovation Network January 22nd. Looks good!)

At one moment, there was Von Furstenberg greeting Gwyneth Paltrow and walking the actress arm-in-arm to another part of the building, which was tricked out to look like Studio 54 (I have not seen that many mirror balls in a long time and that is saying something). Paltrow had a DVF ensemble on that was cut down to there. When I blinked Von Furstenberg was suddenly besties with Demi Moore. I ran into Moore again later in front of the bar and surrounded by fellas. Who else mingled amongst the oodles of mannequins? Tobey Maguire, Allison Williams, Marisa Tomei, Joe Jonas, Rooney Mara, Anderson Cooper, Abbie Cornish, Edward Norton, Robin Wright, Ashley Olsen, Vincent Gallo and LACMA director Michael Govan. I didn’t want to leave and no one did for ages. To the caterers: nice choice with the crab louie. Delish.

Pop by and view DVF Journey of A Dress; it runs through April 1.
