The holiday season is here. What better way to get in the spirit than by heading to one of the region’s many tree lighting ceremonies? Put on your coat and scarf. It’s time to get your pine cone on, Los Angeles. 

Disneyland Tree Lighting
What better way to kick off your Holiday season than visiting the Happiest Place On Earth? Disneyland gets decked out, and the Christmas Fantasy Parade, where characters perform with Santa, returns for the season.
Disneyland, Anaheim, Every day until January 6. 

Christmas Tree Lighting at the Americana
The Glendale shopping mall promises Christmas magic when Cirque du Santa swings by the Americana with his elves, flying reindeer, dancing snowmen, and a grand fireworks finale. Vocalist Dejah Gomez will also make an appearance.
The Americana, Glendale, November 21, 7:30 p.m. 

Beverly Hills Holiday Lighting Ceremony
Rodeo Drive will literally be bathed in light as the city flips the switch on nearly 150,000 lights during the annual Beverly Hills Holiday Lighting Ceremony. There’s more: chainsaw artists carving sculptures out of ice, DJs from New York, and a performance by the Beverly Hills High School marching band.

Pasadena Tree Lighting
The big guy himself, Santa Claus, will make an appearance at this event where you can enjoy cookies and hot cocoa as the thirty-foot Holiday tree is lit. There will also be live music, carolers, choirs, and family portrait sessions with Santa.
One Colorado Courtyard, November 29, 6 p.m.

Chinatown Tree Lighting
Head to Chinatown’s Central Plaza for a free, family-friendly event with music and a little bit of magic just north of downtown. 943-951 N. Broadway, December 5, 6 – 9 p.m.

Mile of Christmas Trees
For 90 years, the majestic cedars lining Christmas Tree Lane in Altadena have brightened the holiday season with approximately 10,000 lights. This year will be no different. Witness “the oldest Christmas lighting spectacle in the United States.”
Santa Rosa Ave., between Woodbury Ave. and Altadena Dr., Altadena, December 14, 6 p.m. 

Santa Monica Tree Lighting
The city turns on its tree accompanied by music from the Samohi Choir and Green Brooms Music Academy. After leading the candlelight walk to the Shopping Cart tree at the Edgemar Courtyard, Santa will be available for family photos.
