How to Do…The Wallis

Make the most of Beverly Hills on your visit to the new $70 million performing arts complex

6 p.m.

Wallis Super Club

Wallis Supper Club
Meant for patrons of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, the restaurant inside the Montage Beverly Hills offers prix fixe menus inspired by what’s onstage. You can also try Scott Conant’s pasta at Scarpetta or go casual at Monsieur Marcel on Canon. A ticket for that night’s show will get you a gratis glass of bubbly.

It took nearly four years to fuse the old Beverly Hills post office—an Italian Renaissance structure from 1934—with a modern performance space. Opened in October, the 500-seat venue anchors a 2.5-acre campus with a grassy promenade and 150-seat theater for school groups and workshops.

8:35 p.m.

Quiet Room

Quiet Room
Need to make a call or compose a tweet during the show? Inside this chamber at the back of the orchestra level, you can still see and hear all the action—without other patrons seeing or hearing you.

At intermission stretch your legs among magnolia trees in the sunken garden, where you’ll find Emmanuel Fillion’s statue Exaltation (above).

The Murals
In the lobby where locals once mailed letters and packages, look up to spot the eight restored Depression-era lunettes by Charles Kassler.
