The global obsession with that other football—the one that culminates in the World Cup in June in Brazil—has inspired a museum’s worth of art. Fútbol: The Beautiful Game, running now through July 20 at LACMA, assembles sculptures, paintings, photographs, and additional works from about 30 artists, including this Chris Beas rendering of U.K. all-time great George Best. Among the featured artists is L.A.-born Kehinde Wiley, whose magisterial portraits honor Africa’s star players. Not able to bend it like Beckham? Don’t worry. The only footwork the exhibition requires is walking.
