Adrenaline junkies can get their thrills at the Great Horror Campout, an outdoor sleepover filled with creepy-crawlies and things that go bump in the night. Early warning: Overnighters can be rousted from their tents for a night of terror, and there’s a scare around every corner in the Hell Hunt, a gory scavenger hunt.

“Our actors can bag you, bind you, simulate torture,” says Melissa Carbone, president of Ten Thirty One Productions, which organizes the event as well as L.A.’s Haunted Hayride in October. “By the time people leave, they should feel like they’ve been on the edge of their seats for 12 hours.”

The Great Horror Campout comes to the L.A. State Historic Park on June 7-8.
