Sesame Street Characters to Invade Fairfax Gallery This Weekend

Here’s an art event even Oscar the Grouch could get behind: Sesame Street, an exhibit inspired by the iconic TV show and featuring works by a group of forty graffiti, street, and tattoo artists (George Thompson, Revok, Rime, Madsteeze, and Mr. Cartoon, for starters), opens Saturday at the Known Gallery on Fairfax. The two-day show, presented by The Seventh Letter and Neff Headwear and benefiting City of Hope’s Pediatrics Department, will focus on characters from the children’s classic, and yes, it is kid friendly. “The artists were very excited when we presented them with the chance to work on this show,” says The Seventh Letter’s Aaron Levant. “Most of them grew up watching Sesame Street, so it was an incredibly fun project to work on.”
