CD Review: Suicide Pact by JJAMZ

We love a good supergroup. This one features pillars of L.A.’s indie rock royalty: Rilo Kiley, Maroon 5, Phantom Planet, and the Like. The members share vocal duties on tracks that make JJAMZ sound at various times like a guitar-thrashing Strokes circa ’01, electro-pop Blondie circa ’81, and finally like themselves circa now. The songs “LAX” and “Never Enough” seem destined to become anthems for American Apparel-outfitted pool par- ties everywhere. (Dangerbird Records, $12.)

Watch the music video for “Never Enough,” the first single off Suicide Pact.
