Profile

The Troubadour was founded by Douglas Weston in 1957 to be a venue for folk music and singer-songwriters. Through the decades, the Troubadour has evolved; it became a popular place to hear new wave and punk in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, and then heavy metal in the ‘80s and ‘90s. A venue for up and coming artists, the Troubadour has been an important first stop in the careers of the Eagles, Van Morrison, and Joni Mitchell as well as several UK artists such as Elton John, Radiohead, Coldplay, and the Arctic Monkeys. In 2009, NBC named the Troubadour the “Best Venue in LA.” Tickets for shows being played almost every night are available through Ticketfly.
