Profile
The British invasion of Melrose has transformed the old Chianti space into a bustling pub-style eatery. The open kitchen, high ceilings, and exposed brick enable the din of postwork types and hipsters snacking on cleaned-up classics like steak and potato pie, bangers and mash, and fish-and-chips. Lighter fare includes cornmeal-crusted catfish, a leek and goat cheese tart, and rock shrimp-scallion fritters with Meyer lemon relish. The dark wood bar offers a decent selection of draft brews and cocktails and provides additional seating in the perpetually packed house.
