Best Kids' Dresses, August 2011
You know it, we know it: Sample sales suck. Pushy customers, communal fitting rooms, cash-only registers—and that's to score past-season goods. The contemporary women's label Geren Ford
holds a biannual sample blowout that's worth seeking out. Last time we stopped by we found an army green silk shift dress, a mesh-back party frock, and a vibrant turquoise silk blouse for roughly $10 a pop. And because designer Geren Lockhart's styles transcend trends, seasons don't matter. The brand's last sale took place in its Little Tokyo offices—sans dressing rooms and credit card machine. We didn't mind one bit.
