If doing demi-pliés at a ballet barre is the white wine spritzer of workouts, the SpeedX
class at Brick Sport Performance Training is a shot of Red Bull. The 60-minute circuit has participants hoisting sandbags above their heads, flipping tractor tires, dragging medicine balls across the length of the large gym, and ferrying kettlebells atop their shoulders in a grueling move called the Farmer’s Carry. With eight 20-second rounds at eight stations and a 10-second breather in between, there’s minimal coddling or time for corrections. Just the burn.
