Best Invasive Facialist, July 2006
Aestheticians have gotten so high on oxygen mists, Ayurvedic oil drips, and topical collagen applications that many seem to have forgotten a main reason we get facials: to have our zits popped. The more polite term is “extracting,” and Merle Celine-Muller of Simply Porceline is one of the most assertive yet gentle extractors in town. Sonya Dakar is just as fearless about excavations and adds to her facials the gossipy bonus of name-dropping her celeb clients. But the lesser-known aesthetician Anahid Horighan at Kenneth George Total Image Spa gets our vote for best face invader. After visits with her we feel clean, not pockmarked, and the little redness quickly goes away.
