Best Tree Surgeon, June 2005
When our prized oak is seeming a bit unkempt or starved for attention, we call in the steady hands at Finch Tree Surgery, which nurse the town’s stateliest citizens in the Huntington Botanical Gardens and the L.A. County Arboretum. Chief arborist and president Randy Finch continues the work of retired founding father Fred, who professionally trimmed his first tree in 1946. With the recent addition of grandson Michael, the family business has extended into its third generation. Rest assured that the specialist is certified, the production crew completely in-house, and tree removal always the last resort. Scaling the tallest peaks is done just as Granddaddy did it, with ladder, rope, and saddle—even for the occasional cat rescue.
