Best Playground for Baby Einstein, April 2007
Future mad scientists and space explorers hot-wire potatoes and build their own rockets at the IDEAS Studio, a learning center founded by a former NASA physicist and a movie production designer. Embracing Einstein's belief that imagination is more important than knowledge, the studio teaches LEGO robotics and other sci-tech stuff but also dips into creative pursuits like filmmaking and edible art. Kids can take part in junior astronaut training and NASA research, and the workspace changes periodically to reflect the curriculum: a fake mummy's tomb here, a pirate ship there. It's appropriate for preschoolers to preteens, too.
