Best Scooters, March 2005
One look around the Scooter Shop in Orange and we’re imagining ourselves as Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday, whipping through Italy’s backstreets on our Lambretta. Then we notice the newer models, big shiny jobs capable of cruising at 85 mph, and we are immersed in a more Road Warrior–like daydream, clad in black leather, adrenaline pumping. “There is no set demographic for a scooterist,” says owner Michael Koslov, using the preferred nomenclature. A scooter owner since 12, Koslov gets high marks for selling and restoring new and vintage models, hosting rally barbecues, and—this is key—retaining the same mechanic for years.
