Best Way to Get Cheap Tickets to See Dudamel at Walt Disney Concert Hall, August 2010
Don’t assume that hysteria over Gustavo Dudamel has made it impossible to nail inexpensive single tickets to the young conductor’s performances with the L.A. Phil at Disney Hall. Sure, season subscribers buy up the majority of choice seats each year, but tickets as low as $18 were available for every one of the Dude’s shows last season, and 20 percent or more of the seats for performances Thursday through Sunday went for less than $50. There’s every indication it will be the same this coming season, which starts October 7. Rush tickets, for seniors and students only, go on sale at the box office two hours prior to each performance for $10 and $20. Available to all are bench tickets behind the orchestra and seats near the organ that go on sale for $18 two weeks before a given show. Buying tickets through Ticketmaster can be a crapshoot; a better option is to call or visit the Walt Disney Concert Hall box office.
