Best Dressing Room, August 2008
Mirrors that slim you down and lighting that makes you look ten years younger are ways some boutiques seduce you into buying. Prada takes a different tack. Its stark fitting rooms have polished aluminum floors and translucent doors that turn opaque at the flick of a switch. Rear-mounted cameras shoot you from behind and, with a slight delay, broadcast your image on plasma screens embedded in full-length mirrors. You can pop on a silky frock printed with images of wood nymphs and pretend the playback is you prancing down the catwalk.
