Museum Store at the Fowler Museum
Best International Artisan Textiles, August 2015
You may not be a globe-trotter, but your home can look as if you’ve crossed continents after one trip to the Museum Store at the Fowler Museum. The shop on the UCLA campus carries an assortment of materials that add color and unusual textures to any setting while representing far-flung lands: Turkmeni tapestries, Malian mud cloth, Oaxacan weavings. While most textile importers focus on single origin pieces, this collection reflects the diversity of the museum’s holdings, from indigo West African fabric to polychromatic Mayan designs.
