Pets: We’ll Have What He’s Having

Check out the menu at Birds Café-Bar (323-465-0175), the rotisserie chicken place in the heart of Hollywood, and you’ll find that a nonfeathered animal gets prominent mention. “Doggie Chicken for your canine children (served with L.A.’s finest tap water), $2,” it says, right below the Kid’s Plate. Turns out that Birds’ co-owner Mary Preston adores animals. If you adopt one at Tailwaggers, the pet store next door, Preston will feed you lunch for free. A percentage of Birds’ profits goes to supporting animal welfare projects. And where will your pup be dining? On the heated patio.
