Pets: The Comfort Zone

It has always been the insult after the injury: that hard plastic cone your vet insists the dog or cat must wear to keep postsurgery chewing to a minimum. Hard and inflexible, the headgear, also known as an Elizabethan collar, looks like a torture device as your pet runs into walls and door frames. That’s why Linda Markfield, who lives in Beachwood Canyon, invented the Comfy Cone, which is made of bendable nylon with Velcro closures and comes in six sizes.
